Princess Peach Voice Of 18 Years Replaced
After 18 years maintaining the role, Princess Peach VA, Samatha Kelly, has been replaced. Her last time voicing the princess was Princess Peach: Showtime!.
Taking to Instagram, Kelly shared that Nintendo informed her that they would be recasting the role. This was a very bitter instance, and unfortunately, it’s a lot less noticed compared to fellow mainstay, Charles Martinet, who was appointed their “Mario Ambassador.”
“Thank you for so many years of friendship and joy. I’m sad that it’s over, I truly would have wanted to voice Peach and Toad forever. Nintendo let me know yesterday that they decided to recast these roles. I’m grateful that I got to do these voices for so many years. Peach and Toad are such strong and beautiful characters that I pray they live forever no matter who voices them. So much love #princesspeach #toad”
With the new console generation, it seems Nintendo is a bit more hamfisted with changing the cast, considering 20-year Donkey Kong vet, Takashi Nagasako, who voiced DK himself, is no longer voicing the Nintendo staple.
What do you think? Are you disappointed to see Kelly, Nagasako, and the like go? Let us know below!
