Borderlands 4 On Switch 2 Won’t Have Split-Screen Co-Op
If you were hoping to start Borderlands 4 with your friend in the same room, you’ll need two units or be in a different room to do it. Specifically the Switch 2 version won’t allow for split-screen co-op, which is both expected and unfortunate.
On Borderlands 4‘s FAQ page (via GoNintendo), it addresses that the game will offer full crossplay with PC, PS5, and Xbox, but it won’t have split-screen support. We imagine this is because of the hybrid nature of the console and it would make it awkward to use this feature when not in docked mode.
“Switch 2 players will have the same exciting Borderlands 4 experience as other platforms minus the split-screen option, and yes, it will have full crossplay with Epic, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S!”
Nonetheless, it’s still neat that Borderlands 4 is releasing on Nintendo’s latest hardware. It releases on October 3. Meanwhile its other platforms will launch on September 12.
