Nintendo Switch 2 Surpasses 23.68M Units Worldwide

Nintendo Switch 2 sales continue to impress as the console is well ahead of the original Switch’s first-year sales. In the last fiscal quarter alone, the platform saw 3.82 million units sold, bring its worldwide total to 23.68 million.

Per Nintendo’s own report, the original is also still kicking, though, not nearly as much as its lil’ brother here. In the last three months, the console sold 770K units, bringing its total to 155.92 million worldwide. Meanwhile the predecessor remains top dog in terms of software, but we’ll have to see if that continues over the next quarter.

That said, considering the potentially strong lineup of games coming right around the corner like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake later this year and FromSoftware’s Duskbloods, which seethes Bloodborne energy, it’s all-too likely that the Switch 2 could squeak out a software victory.

I have a hunch, though, that sales over the next quarter will slow, but not halt, especially as September 1 will see a global Switch 2 price hike, bringing the already arguably expensive — though not nearly as expensive as its competition — to $500.
